FROM THE DISTRICT SUPERINTENDENT

  • SUPERINTENDENT Larry Didway
  • GRADES SERVED K-12

Dear Parents and Community Members,

Oregon City School District is committed to preparing all students for further education, career, and a successful life. This Oregon Report Card is designed to provide you with information about our student’s performance compared to students across the state and share highlights of the many supports and enrichment opportunities provided.

The outstanding effort and accomplishments of our students in academics, athletics and the performance arts is the source of great community pride. However, we believe that each and every student in our schools can excel, and therefore, we strive to close achievement and opportunity gaps toward our goal of 100% graduation.

We are focused on efforts to increase student engagement, raise content level standards and increase the knowledge and skill of classroom teachers by cultivating a collaborative culture, adopting evidence-based practices and improving educator effectiveness.

We value our partnership with you. Your child’s growing ability as a student and a healthy family and community member is the best indicator of our work together.

Thank you,
Superintendent Larry Didway

FEDERAL TITLE I DESIGNATION

Priority and Focus school designations were based on 2011-12 data. Model school designations were based on 2013-14 data.

  Priority Focus Model
Number of Elementary Schools 0 0 0
Number of Middle Schools 0 0 0
Number of High Schools 1 0 0

Priority Schools are high poverty schools that were ranked in the bottom 5% of Title I-A schools in the state based on Oregon’s rating formula. These schools generally have overall very low achievement and limited growth over time. Additional supports and interventions to make improvements are needed.

Focus Schools are high poverty schools that were ranked in the bottom 5% -15% of Title I-A schools in the state with a significant achievement gap based on Oregon’s rating formula. These schools need additional support in closing the achievement gap among historically underserved student populations.

Model Schools are high poverty schools that were ranked in the top 5% of Title I-A schools in the state based on Oregon’s rating formula. These schools serve as models of successful student outcomes.

This data is part of the Open Books Project. It is not part of the Oregon Report Card.
