  • PRINCIPAL Kyle Laier
  • GRADES SERVED 41863

Dear Parents and Community Members,

Our focus is preparing tomorrow's workforce for innovative careers in engineering, manufacturing and construction trades. CAIS graduates enroll in college, apprenticeships or start a career after graduation. Industry leaders, CAIS Board and staff focus on applicable skills needed in STEM careers. We want our students to have many opportunities to apply the state standards so work samples are used to demonstrate competence and proficiency. By using this alternative assessment our achievement scores on state assessments will be slightly lower. At CAIS, we prioritize instructional time in a chosen field and are known for measuring success through our graduates' successful performance in their chosen careers.

Thank you,
Principal Kyle Laier

OVERALL STATE RATING

HOW ARE STUDENTS AT THIS SCHOOL PERFORMING COMPARED TO THOSE AT OTHER SCHOOLS?

The overall state rating is intended to summarize this school's particular successes and challenges. It is based on a combination of up to five factors. Three of these factors come from standardized test scores in reading and math: student achievement, student growth, and the growth of underserved subgroups. High schools are also rated on the overall graduation rate for the school and the graduation rates of underserved subgroups. Please be aware that this rating is based mainly on high-stakes testing and accordingly, represents a limited view of student performance. Other aspects of this report card are designed to put this rating in the proper context.

Compared to all schools statewide in 2013-14, this school is rated as Level 3.
