FROM THE PRINCIPAL

  • GRADES SERVED 41798

Dear Parents and Community Members,

Ogden Middle School was rated near the state average in 2013-14.  Our students were slightly more successful on standards-based tests than most schools in Oregon, but not all of our students met the academic growth targets set for them.

Academic highlights:
- 73.4% met/exceeded state reading standards
- 79.1% met/exceeded state science standards

Areas to improve include math in general and the difference in achievement between certain groups of Ogden students.  We will improve student achievement in these areas by developing in-class assessments to monitor student progress and work collaboratively to find ways to increase learning for each student. In addition, we will teach writing skills in all subject areas to promote critical thinking.  Our aim is individual academic growth.

You can help by monitoring student work on ParentVue, attending parent-teacher conferences, and/or volunteering.  Our continued partnership in 2014-15 will ensure our commitment to providing a safe, respectful, responsible learning community where all students progress socially and academically.

Thank you,
Principal Peter Danner
